Road safety
Enabling our drivers to set an example when it comes to road safety
Road safety is a constant priority and forms part of a responsible risk prevention policy shared by all Norbert Dentressangle employees.
In 1991, the company launched its Safe Driving Plan. This road risk management programme encourages drivers to adopt, under all circumstances, an approach to driving that aims to prevent accidents, mainly by means of defensive driving. The Safe Driving Plan is both a driving training tool and a continuous development strategy.
Results in figures
• 590,000 km covered by each driver, on average, without being declared responsible for an accident involving a third party
• Over 7M€ allocated for implementation of the Safe Driving Plan
• 25 instructors and 200 driver-trainers work within the integrated training organisation
A comprehensive strategy, throughout the driver’s career
• Selective recruitment: 1 driving test + 1 interview + 1 alcohol test
• Instructors take responsibility for all new drivers
• 5 days at the induction centre after being appointed
• Minimum of 3 days in-vehicle training, accompanied by a driver-trainer
• For 24 months, training stages every 6 months, adapted to the driver’s needs
• Followed by a review every 18 months
