Norbert Dentressangle bags brace of contracts with Coca-Cola Enterprises
Norbert Dentressangle has secured two new contracts with Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE).
Firstly, CCE has selected Norbert Dentressangle to manage the warehousing and distribution operation for its UK vending business, operating a centralised hub for the handling, storage, pre-delivery inspection and distribution of vending and cooling machines.
The operation involves movement of circa 34,000 vending machines and coolers per annum and the delivery and installation of this equipment at customer premises throughout the UK. In conjunction with the delivery operation, Norbert Dentressangle is also responsible for collecting withdrawn equipment from customer premises which, in turn, is trunked back to the central hub for inspection or disposal.
The transportation operation is served by a dedicated specialist fleet of 14-18 tonne rigid, tail-lift vehicles, equipped with a range of specialist handling equipment to allow machines to be delivered to a wide range of installation points. All deliveries are undertaken by specially trained two-man crews who are also responsible for installing and demonstrating the equipment. The dedicated fleet is supplemented by Norbert Dentressangle’s national specialist shared user network, providing a highly flexible and cost-effective solution.
Norbert Dentressangle is also handling the distribution of CCE’s post-mix and dispense equipment throughout the UK, providing a specialist solution for bars, pubs, clubs and restaurants.
Distribution and storage
The storage operation occupies 50,000 sq ft of dedicated space within Norbert Dentressangle’s shared-user warehouse at Kiln Farm in Milton Keynes. As a result, the operation can also accommodate additional volumes on an as required basis. In addition to its core warehousing operations, Norbert Dentressangle is responsible for product customisation and for the disposal of end of life product under the WEEE Directive and Hazardous Waste Regulations.
Kiln Farm is also the principal hub for a second contract awarded to Norbert Dentressangle by CCE for the distribution of consumer beverages. This involves the collection and delivery of around 86,000 pallets per annum from five CCE manufacturing and distribution centres to retailer and wholesaler RDCs. This will be supported by a second base in Yorkshire, served by a fleet of dedicated and shared vehicles.
