Norbert Dentressangle boxes clever with cullen packaging

Norbert Dentressangle has been appointed by one of Scotland’s largest independent corrugated box manufacturers, Cullen Packaging, to distribute its products throughout the UK.

Based in Glasgow, Cullen Packaging is the only company in Europe that can offer a combined solution for both internal and external packaging, manufactured at the same facility. This includes produce trays, shelf ready packaging, bottle protectors and medical and industrial pulp products that are made from 100% recycled paper.

The packaging specialist sought a reliable and cost-effective alternative to its incumbent transport supplier and appointed Norbert Dentressangle based on its ability to provide a comprehensive supply chain solution and online tracking.

The service will see Norbert Dentressangle collecting orders from the company’s major manufacturing facility in Glasgow, in order to make next day deliveries via its shared user network. Cullen’s nationwide customer base includes Numatic International (manufacturers of the Henry vacuums), Marks & Spencer and the NHS.

To assist the process, Cullen Packaging is utilising Norbert Dentressangle’s bespoke SHARP (Shipment Handling and Reporting Program) technology. The integrated online ystem enables the company to place orders electronically, which are scanned and tracked in real time to improve operational efficiency.

“This is backed up by an internet despatch programme and the SHARP system, which ensures we can easily monitor orders, as well as drill down to obtain key proof of delivery information online.”
