Environmental site management
«Eco-friendly» buildings
The 355 sites in the Norbert Dentressangle Group come under a policy of environmental management. The control of energy consumption has a direct impact on development costs and is therefore of interest to companies.
Objective : 100 % of the sites apply the environmental standard adopted by the Group.
The Norbert Dentressangle Group has expressed a strong desire to have environmentally-friendly buildings and sites. This has led to the creation of a environmental management standard. Practical actions is taken over energy consumption and waste sorting, and is adapted on an individual basis.
The principle behind the Group environmental management standard is based on a precise analysis carried out on each site. Action plans are set up to improve performance, based on the audits carried out.
The environmental management policy is therefore totally relevant as it takes account of the configuration of the sites, the nature of their activity and their scope. Each customer thus benefits from a recognition of the environment according to his products.
The Group environmental management standard covers 4 topics:
Compliance with regulations
Monitoring and measuring energy consumption
Monitoring and measuring discharges and waste
Internal training and external communication
All recent sites are committed to applying for ISO 14001 certification.
The Group is also committed to applying for ISO 14001 certification for its recent sites, a step which is automatic for new sites. 50% of the Logistics's Division turnover is realised in ISO 14001 warehouses.
ISO 14001
Certification is the means of demonstrating, via an outside certifying organisation, a company's ability to supply a product or service in compliance with the requirements of customers and regulations.
The concept of the ISO 14001 standard is based on continuous improvement in environmental performance and compliance with the regulations.
