2008 : "Passion Rouge 2010" is a fundamental change
With the purchase of Christian Salvesen, the Norbert Dentressangle Group has opened a new dimension. “Passion Rouge 2010˝, developed in conjunction with this new range of activity, gives priority to internal growth, by giving Group customers access to the entire range of Norbert Dentressangle services throughout Europe, and by bringing all employees up to speed with the best practices: commitment to sustainable development, customised offers, Human resource policies, innovation, cost reduction, and brand name promotion.
2007 : Purchase of Christian Salvesen – Creation of a European leader in transport and logistics services
With the acquisition of Christian Salvesen, Norbert Dentressangle becomes a European leader in Transport and Logistics services with 30,000 employees located in 370 sites in 14 European countries and 3.083 billion euros in revenue.
2006 : Strengthening of the European network
The Group pursues its development in the Eastern European countries. It acquires the Romanian transport company Transcondor. The acquisition of the Spanish company CCH enables it to establish its logistics activities in the Iberian Peninsula.
2005 : Launching of "Challenge 2008"
The Group launches a new three-year development plan “Challenge 2008”. The plan outlines the reinforcement of our international presence, the integration of sustainable development practices and the expansion of our service range to include new business activities. An example of this is the acquisition of the distribution firm Venditelli.
The Group purchases the logistics activities and part of the transport activities of TNT Logistics France. It becomes the French no 2 for logistics.
2002 – 2003 : Reinforcing logistics activity
Continued European expansion of the Group’s logistics activity through the acquisition of Van Mierlo in the Netherlands, Stockalliance in France and Cidem in Italy.
1999 : Fostering European growth
Definition of a three-fold business strategy: European expansion, specialisation of transport activities and development of logistics activity. Company expansion in Eastern Europe in particular: Poland, Hungary, The Czech Republic and Romania.
1997 : First logistics acquisitions
The Group takes over two French logistics companies: Confluent and UTL.
1994 : Stock market flotation
The Group is floated on the French stock exchange in June 1994 in order to further develop transport activity in Europe and acquire a new, complementary field of expertise: logistics.
1988 - 1993 : First transport acquisitions
The Group acquires 30 companies, reinforcing its presence in France.
1985 - 1987 : Establishing a European transport network
Norbert Dentressangle opens up branches in Italy, Spain and the Benelux countries.
1979 : Creation of Norbert Dentressangle
Norbert Dentressangle creates SA Norbert Dentressangle, an international road transport company, specialising in cross-channel traffic. Its ambition is to become the leader in this sector.
