The Norbert Dentressangle Group organises the running of the management of forklift trucks movement. Objective: to optimise movement.
The principle
Entry and exit flows of complete pallets in the warehouse require optimisation. The aim is to reduce the number of kilometres run empty and the total number of kilometres covered by forklift truck. The functionalities developed specifically in the WMS make it possible to control movements in the warehouse. The process, based on on-board IT, is adjusted according to the configuration, the size of the site and the structure of customer flows.
Few exits: the storage space is located close to reception.
Average site with few forklift truck drivers: each forklift truck driver is allocated with a dual function for the entry and exit of pallets.
Large site and large number of movements: each forklift truck driver is allocated to an area and only deals with the entry and exit of pallets allocated to this area (multi-receptions and multi-orders).
