The Norbert Dentressangle Group has integrated voice recognition technology into its order preparation process. The result is assured reliability, a level of quality close to zero defects and an increased productivity.

The voice recognition device allows the order preparer to communicate in real time, via a headset/micro unit, with a vocal server connected to a computer. For each parcel, the computer tells the preparer the quantities, the picking addresses and the product destination. The preparer confirms the quantity taken, by microphone. If the product is out of stock, restocking is automatically activated.
Advantages
By releasing the preparer's hands, voice recognition leads to improvements in productivity and reduces preparation errors. Order preparation is both faster and more reliable. The traceability of the operations is also improved and updating, and the continuous inventory can be carried out in real time.
The new generation of Voice Command
Norbert Dentressangle is currently working on the new generation of voice command which offers:
Vocal stock inventory: checks on stock accuracy in real time
Weight checks on the order: the parcel weight is checked as it is lifted on to the forklift truck.
An alert is given in the event of a variation.
The interactive dialogue between the preparer and the system:
- The preparer voiceprint capture is no longer needed
- The preparer places information concerning all events in the warehouse on the system in real time
